Arena can turn even the nicest church going girls into seafaring pirates from Captain Jack Sparrow’s ship. I have a love hate relationship with arena and I think the feeling is mutual amongest most of its visitors. It brings a pure adrenaline rush like no other aspect in the World of Warcraft.

You Can Pay to Play Me Anytime! Blizzard Store

Sup bitches! So WoW is starting to play the “Pay to Play” game. You know, that business model where you have to pay for special items and gear to make you better–or at least better looking–in a game. Again, you do not necessarily have to purchase any of these items but they are inciting enough to make you spend that hard earned cash of yours.

In World of Warcraft,  everyone pays their subscription fee. In most cases, we spend $15/month and we log on to level, obtain gear, play with our friends, PvP, raid end-game content, etc. Now this has gone on for many years already and I have come to learn that if you put in the effort you will get the reward–the achievements, titles, in game pets, mounts, phat epix, or anything else that feels rewarding to you.

The Return of Vanilla World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft has undoubtedly grown by leaps and bounds since its debut in 2004 and much of this can be contributed to Blizzard’s dedication to opening the game up to more players. As patches and expansions were released, more features were introduced that allowed for players to more easily quest, group up, obtain gear and complete achievements–changes that opened Azeroth’s doors to small children, geriatrics and even techno-hating-housewives. Though, these changes eliminated once deeply held values, such as the sanctity of epics, the difficulty of raid encounters and the necessity of crowd control. However, as Cataclysm approaches, it seems that World of Walking will return to many of its original roots, while holding firm its grasp of a previously untapped market.
