At the release of Cataclysm we quickly leveled to 85 and geared ourselves via the (then challenging) Heroic Dungeons, only to find ourselves face to face with our first raid boss a few days later. As our first full raid week progressed, we downed more than half of the normal mode content with a fair amount of ease and are greatly looking forward to the encounters we have not yet seen, especially the hard modes!
One of the more trying conquests, the Ascendant Council in the Bastion of Twilight, yielded us a US #76 kill and we aim to have much more of those when we approach content that requires real execution and not simply /played.
What’s more, is that we have greatly enjoyed the friendly competition on the server, both alliance and horde, and the drive for progression that so many guilds on Bleeding Hollow have — congratulations to all of them on their successful kills as well!
Since Azeroth will never be the same again come the December 7th release of World of Warcraft’s Cataclysm, we have constructed a brief (albeit time consuming) bucket list of things you may wish to complete in the coming month and a half. Behold – the Skeletal Raptor mount! I was fortunate enough to be able to be the first brave adventurer to catch one of these beauties on film. Discovered by beta guildmate Melianna through Archaeology, this mount is sure to be on the top of everybody’s Cataclysm to-do list. Melianna first unlocked the journal entry for this mount at around 285 Archaeology skill and it took 100 fossil fragments to complete. Next stop, the Qiraj flyer! Continue reading this entry »
Today’s latest beta build has brought us many changes as well as a few new additions. Perhaps most notable is the implementation of Cataclysm’s new profession, Archaeology. As a total Indiana Jones geek, I’ve been salivating at the chance to try out the new profession from the moment we first heard about it at Blizzcon ‘09. So how does it work? Vashj’ir is one of the new 80+ questing zones being introduced into World of Warcraft’s latest expansion: Cataclysm. Much like Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord, Vashj’ir is paired with Mount Hyjal as one of two options you will have to begin your latest adventure. The zone is tuned for 78-81 level players which means those of you who will be jumping in right out of ICC will definitely breeze through the content – but don’t let that get in the way of your fun! Vashj’ir and Hyjal introduce us to the latest questing philosophy adopted by Blizzard, a system that has been refined yet again to an even higher standard.
